Fun, fun. I just received a letter from my DME supplier informing me they’ve been victims of a cyber-attack. Because of this, my personal information could be compromised. To cover their butts, they’re offering a one-year credit monitoring membership.

Is it worth it? I almost threw the letter away; however, I’m guessing my information is floating out there from more than just this incident.

Have you received letters like this? How do you protect your information? I feel like having a disability puts us at higher risk.

I got this letter, too, if we’re thinking of the same DME company. (Not so) Funnily enough, I got the same letter from Ticketmaster a few days before. Only 500 people in Rhode Island got this letter, and I was one of them. I don’t know if protection will help me at this point.

I place credit freeze on the credit history bureaus.
