Light reading recommendations?
For some reason, Singapore’s largest English newspaper — The Straits Times — decided it’d be a good idea to interview me about what I’m reading these days. I’m assuming it’s because people know me primarily as a writer. A little sadly for both of us, the interview made me realize I’m not reading as many books as I want to.
Part of the problem is that I tend to pick heavy material, and I abandon halfway because my brain can’t keep up with the load sometimes.
So, I thought I’d ask y’all: any recommendations for light reads? I enjoy fiction and poetry, and tend to prefer fantasy aesthetics, but I’m not picky.

I’m more of a mystery/thriller book reader, so I don’t know how many fantasy books I can recommend to you. However, I did just read “The Midnight Library,” which is considered fantasy. It was pretty good. I enjoyed it, and I believe the author is coming out with a second book along the same idea this year. Something to consider!

Currently reading The Bright Sword: A Novel of King Arthur by Lev Grossman who wrote The Magicians that was on Syfy. Tremendously engaging and fun with a fantasy vibe, can’t put it down.
