School, Careers, and Success In Life Part 2
Happy Wednesday everyone. Here’s the link to Kala’s newest column. It’s the second in a series in which she chronicles her writing career so far. I’ve enjoyed the series, as it’s similar to my own story. Like Kala, I was pushed to go to college, but it was the last thing I wanted to do. She and I have both managed to become published writers. College isn’t always necessary, and I think people need to be reminded of that sometimes. Do you have any takeaways from this column?

I’m glad Kayla is able to do something she’s passionate about. Maybe college isn’t for everyone, but I’m glad I had that experience. It’s completely different than high school, and there’s way more choices than psychology, not that that would be a bad choice if that’s what you’re into. It’s good though that Kayla found her own path to her end goal.

I also chose not to go to college. I always thought I wanted to but after I graduated I realized it wasn’t actually what I felt called to do. That’s when I started volunteering and eventually felt like it was time start writing again. And now, of course, write here! I’m really glad I chose not to go to college! I might change my mind and go back to school some day, but it was the right choice for me at this point in my life.
