Submit to Lime Connect’s #InTheLimelight Video Contest
If you’re a student or professional with a disability, you might be eligible to win a cash prize as part of Lime Connect’s #InTheLimelight video contest. Lime Connect is rebranding disability through achievement. The organization’s central program, the Lime Network, is a career resource for high-potential students and professionals with disabilities; members of the network have access to scholarships, internships, and job opportunities, as well as mentoring, coaching, and other professional development resources.
The #InTheLimelight video contest was first launched in July 2017, and is sponsored by Lime Connect special adviser Vint Cerf. Cerf is considered “one of the fathers of the internet.” A leader in the disability community, Cerf decided he wanted to see more success stories in the world that featured disability; #InTheLimelight is the result.
#InTheLimelight is working to change the narrative that surrounds living, working, and thriving with a disability. To submit to the contest, record a one- to two-minute video in which you speak to the following: your disability, some of the challenges you face as a student or professional with a disability, and some of your success stories. The contest has up to 15,000 USD in cash prizes. The first place winner receives 7,500 USD, second place 5,000 USD, and third place 2,500, with 1,000 allotted to viewer’s choice.
To submit to the #InTheLimelight video contest, you must be a student or professional living in the United States or Canada who is 18 years of age or older. You also must identify as having or living with a disability: “a long-term, or recurring, issue that impacts one or more major activities that others may consider to be a daily function.” Your video submission must be unpublished and original.
