I usually also do audiobooks- especially on a slow pace- i really enjoy that i can set the pace of the reader. It helps me immensely to be able to contextualise the reading and the reading speed to the kind of day I have had. Currently reading / working with an interesting statistics book called Statistics for People Who (Think They) Hate Statistics- it is really fun- i am also doing a sandman reading- overall lovely but these two weeks have been more exhausting so less reading

For my quarantined birthday, i lit some candles, prepped a lovely meal and played a birthday playlist of songs i have liked and listened to since my childhood- it was v v different- but extremely special

Hi, thank you so much DeAnn for putting the words and dilemma that i share too in such articulate words. Especially because i live with my older relative and do not want to take any more risks than i have to. This week it really came to a head because I am a tutor and one of my students’ parents asked me to come and bicycle to their place so that i could teach the young student and I was extremely uncomfortable with that proposition even though i knew that they might look at it a little as paranoia. Instead, i requested a day more of working on real life examples like these of arithmetic and geometric progression and gave a real life Covid-related example and at the end of the class addressed my dilemma quite openly with the student. He understood completely now 🙂 It is one of my proudest moments as a teacher.

This is such a beautiful reminder about not falling prey to idea of capitalism and productivity. I think i needed to hear this to feel more at easy with the days that i feel not quite ready to ‘take on the world’ as much as just being ready to work on myself and educate myself of my own biases

Fleabag is this beautiful show from a one woman theatre piece by Phoebe-Waller Bridge. It is available on Netflix i believe. It works with dark humour and the inner life of a ‘messed up’ young owman.

Right now, I am binge watching with my spouse Fleabag and it really is bringing much artistic joy into our life. I am also reading When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi- a very moving medical memoir- seriously heartbreaking and life affirming at the same time. I am also finishing Young’s Anatomy and Physiology book for my pre med tuition kids. It is a hectic two months.

Thank you for this thread, it is giving me so much strength and courage. I had joined the forum hoping to find resources to guide me through my infrequent but intense bouts of caregivers depression. Thanks.  I will hold this close.

Thanks for this thread. I realised i have stopped talking about other things than caregiving for a while.
