Short Bio |
We found out that our sweet newborn granddaughter was born with SMA -three days after her birth on March 31st.
We were devastating for us to hear and for our son and our daughter-in-law.
We have since been so VERY encouraged by the new progress in treating SMA, and she has just finished her 4th (first 60 days), spinal infusion of Spirenza.
We are so hopeful that she may be able to live a normal life w/o the past affects from this disease! We have not been told which type of SMA she hastet, although we’ve been told that it is most likely not SMA 1.
Thank you and God bless all the brilliant researchers, doctors, and Children’s hospital of Denver!! Also for the wonderful SMA Foundation that has been SO supportive and generous to them!
