Hi. I’m Mimi Perez. My husband, Gus, and I live in Dallas, Texas. We have a daughter in grad school in Boston.
My husband has Type III SMA (four copies of SMN). He is 58 and still ambulatory. He uses a crutch for stability when he walks.
He started taking Evrysdi at the end of July 2022. Since that time he has lost a lot of strength and is pretty freaked out. His left leg has always been weaker but now it is noticeably weaker and he doesn’t feel comfortable walking longer than he absolutely has to. We see the neurologist in Janaury and will be asking a lot of questions.
