The support of the charity and the Duke of Edinburgh scheme has encouraged people like Melanie–who was born with type 2 spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)–to look beyond their disabilities and to challenge themselves. The scheme is broken down into four sections: volunteering, skills, sports and adventurous journey. The film shows Melanie completing the sports section of the scheme.
