My son was born with a spinal cord defect, which was a Type IV SMA. He has extreme difficulty in walking, running, and physical activities due to his legs and feet turning outwards. He just recently had knee, leg, and foot surgery to help his leg and foot to turn back inwards. Since he was born he has been to multiple doctor appointments, surgeries, and physical and occupational therapy.
