I have been diagnosed with SMAS in July 2019. Gastroscopy carried out and revealed gastritis with haematin but problem is in the third part of duodenum which is being narrowed by superior mesenteric artery. Only been referred to dietician who has never heard of diagnosis. Neither has my GP. I am struggling and losing weight (1.5 stone). Now on blitzed food but feeling nauseous most of the time, which is wretched. Gastroenterologist says its a surgical matter but the Regional MDT have asked for further digestion investigations. No progress probably due to Covid. Would be very interested to hear from fellow sufferers.
