I’m a really happy person living with SMA. I walked from 1 yr to 10 yrs, then got manual wheelchair, the 13 I had scoliosis surgery, then used power chair. Worked for 20 yrs, got married, no kids. Although, I do have a pet peeve, being called patient when I’m not at a doctor’s office. While completing my account one question is Relationship: patient, caregiver, med professional or family. I don’t consider myself as a patient. I’m just a regular person that has SMA.
