Short Bio |
Diagnosed with SMA type II when I was 11 years old at Mary Hitchcock hospital in Dartmouth, New Hampshire, I am now a professor of Disability Studies at George Washington University. I have published six books and four documentary films on disability culture, history, and media representations. All of my work seeks to attend to issues of disabled peoples’ unique predicament in the U.S. and globally.
