Jeremy replied to the topic Thoughts on Covid Boosters in the forum Coronavirus (COVID-19) and SMA 2 months, 2 weeks ago
I’m not in a huge rush as I really don’t have respiratory issues and such and getting sick isn’t usually a big deal for me. But I’ll probably get a second booster by the end of summer just to be safe (keeping an eye on effectiveness data coming in on how much a 4 shot helps, new variants, etc)… Especially with many safety measures being lifte…[Read more]

If you enjoy philosophy and/or psychology you might like Very Bad Wizards, The Partially Examined Life, Two Psychologist Four Beers, and Decoding the Gurus.
Sean Carroll’s Mindscape covers a wide range of topics but is mostly science focused (he’s a theoretical physicist).
My current favorite comedy podcast is Your Mom’s House (with Tom and C…[Read more]

Jeremy replied to the topic To be vaccinated or not to be in the forum Coronavirus (COVID-19) and SMA 8 months, 2 weeks ago
My arm was a little sore for a few days after the 2nd shot. I also had a mild headache for about 12hrs but I get those occasionally and don’t even know that was related to the vaccine. The risks of the vaccine are small compared to that of getting COVID while unvaccinated. Unless you’re unable to get vaccinated because of allergies to it’s c…[Read more]

Very Bad Wizards- A psychologist and a philosopher having mostly casual convers…[Read more]

Jeremy replied to the topic Deciding to switch from Spinraza to risdiplam in the forum Roche and Genentech- Evrysdi (risdiplam) 1 year ago
I’m far from an expert so please take with a grain of salt…
I believe the genetic test would only be needed to measure the numbers of SMN2 gene copies, where as the Risdiplam works by increasing the SMN protein levels. I would think that measuring protein levels would be pretty straightforward with a blood test (but it may be more comp…[Read more]

I haven’t personally noticed any drowsiness from the Centirizine but IIRC I have seen it mentioned as a possible side effect.

Purely anecdotal but between myself and 4 or 5 friends I’ve asked we all prefer Zyrtec (Cetirizine) over Claritin (which did nothing for me) or anything else we’ve tried. It doesn’t completely alleviate my symptoms but it’s the only thing that’s really seemed to help at all.

Jeremy replied to the topic Would You Rather – Round 7 in the forum Would You Rather? 1 year ago
I think I’d have to move to somewhere with the most temperate climate possible just to keep my internet. Couldn’t go without my online gaming… Everything else I could give up, but not that.
