Here’s a list of switches and the amount of force required to activate each one. You may want to replace your ultra-sensitive switch for one that requires more force. Your wheelchair rep or therapist should have a few for you to try.

There’s a product called Ergo ArmRest that is inexpensive and may be beneficial. Or you could consider a more sophisticated arm support – either mechanical or powered. These require insurance approval.

Brianna – About half of all clients who received coverage for their Jacos had them approved after an initial denial. So don’t give up hope during the appeal process. It can be long but fruitful!
