Ana is a molecular biologist enthusiastic about healthcare and communication. In her role as a science writer for SMA News Today she wishes to bring the advances in medical science and technology closer to patients, caregivers and health care professionals who have to live daily with this disease. She obtained a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and was a postdoctoral research fellow at iMM Lisboa, Portugal where she did research on molecular biology, gene expression and infectious diseases.
