SMA kid adoption stories
I’d bet good money that for most of the SMA stories we’ve heard, the patients got to stay with their parents. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for every patient. SMA News Today even reported on a case where a little girl in China with SMA was adopted a few years ago.
This is a topic that I believe is worth highlighting in our community, and I wanted to do so in a column. As we all know, a difference in general care can be the difference between life and death for disabled kids in rough circumstances.
But since there aren’t many stories of SMA patients in the foster/adoption system, I need help in finding those stories: if you know of patients who’ve been through the foster/adoption system and would like their stories shared on our main site, do let me know!
