Tutor students
These online tutoring websites will pay you $20/hour to tutor students. You’ll need a bachelor’s degree to apply, and in some cases you’ll be expected to work evenings and weekends, so make sure you read the fine print! If you’re looking for a full-time position, Revolution Prep is hiring professional tutors. Perks include health insurance, paid time off, and more.
Proofread
Have a way with words? You might want to consider freelancing as a proofreader. There may be a startup cost, especially if you decide to take one of many proofreading courses available online, but you could eventually be earning up to $0.35 per page. It’s definitely something to consider.
Play at jury duty
If you’re interested in high-profile court cases, this could be the gig for you. Some attorneys will pay to present their cases to surrogate jurors, or mock juries, as a practice run. You can attend live sessions, which usually last all day; however, qualifications can vary, depending on the case. If you feel like staying at home, you can review cases virtually. These online surrogate juries pay less, but also take less time. Regardless, you need to live in the same city, zip code, or federal judicial district as the court associated with the case, so if you live in the middle of nowhere, you may want to consider another job. Check out this list of potential mock juries.
