Maria Fernanda Llave is a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in forensic linguistics; she holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology and writing studies, with a minor in philosophy of law. She lives with SMA type 2 and writes from lived experience at the intersection of healthcare access, disability, and advocacy. Maria is also a RARE Artist award recipient for her poem “No Borders for My Voice.”
