Wheels for Ella
Summer is here and in full force. Ice cream trucks, sprinklers, and lazy days abound. Bike riding also tops off the season. Ella can now join in a way that she couldn’t do before!
Through the generosity of the Jonathan Goers Bike Club and the coordination of Easter Seals, Ella was chosen to receive a modified bike for “joyful bike riding.” Over the course of months, Ella was fitted and was able to practice biking at physical therapy. She demonstrated the ability to pedal on her own. Just recently, she was presented with the bike, had final adjustments made, and took the bike home.
Right now, Ella has a cast on her right ankle due to a fracture from when one of our dogs sat on her leg, but she’s anxious and ready to start the summer biking with her siblings.
Through the generosity of many, the training she received, and the encouragement of all, Ella has something to look forward to over the summer — a bike ride whenever she wants to go.
