My entire life I’ve been proving people wrong. From the doctors who didn’t think I’d live beyond age three to family members who had doubts about my ability to attend college or live independently.

Sometimes it’s exhausting, and sometimes those doubts creep into my own head. Regardless, I’m continuing to push the boundaries.

How do you deal with naysayers? Do you push the limits, or do you take a less contradictory approach to life?

I used to be very adamant about proving people wrong. I’d work three times as hard as everyone else just to show I was capable. Nowadays I could care less about that haha. As long as I know I’m working hard and pushing boundaries other people’s narratives of me don’t get in my way. Of course, I’m still a medical mystery to my doctors. But that’s not done intentionally. 🙃
