In the latest episode of the SMA News Today podcast, Dr. Danielle Sheypuk shares her perspective on the topic of disability and dating. Sheypuk is a clinical psychologist with SMA, and in her work she strives to change negative stereotypes about individuals with disabilities. Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Sheypuk has spent the better part of her adult life in New York City. It’s here that she received her PhD in clinical psychology from The New School for Social Research in 2009, and has since furthered her own practice.

In this interview, Sheypuk also talks about her daily life and how she’s able to live independently. Between meeting with clients, doing interviews with various media outlets and maintaining a social life in the Big Apple, she wants to emphasize that people in the SMA community and with other disabilities can lead active and fulfilling lives.
