Investors Call for Workplace Disability Inclusion
Happy Memorial Day to those in the U.S.! I recently got an email from the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) with some interesting news. Last week, investors from around the country called on companies to create inclusive workplaces for people with disabilities.
The call pointed to “Getting to Equal: The Disability Inclusion Advantage” as evidence that companies with best practices for disabled employees outperform their peers on numerous financial metrics. It also encouraged companies to participate in the Disability Equality Index (DEI). The investors represent over 1 trillion USD in combined assets, with the call supported by a variety of disability advocacy organizations. You can find the full call here.
How do you feel about this news? Do you foresee changes in the workplace at all? What experiences do you have working? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
