Someone had asked a question about an oral implant. I have type 3 SMA, am 62 yo and use a walker and a travel scooter. I had an implant done with local anesthetic, Novocaine and had no problems. It took about a year and the worst part was needing a bone graft first.

That was me! Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad to hear that it went well. If you don’t mind me asking, why did the process take a year?

The bone graft took 6 months to heal before they could actually start the implant itself. If you don’t need a bone graft it should be much quicker. The bone graft was also the most painful part so you should be fine.
