Assistive Technology For Your Computer
I always love learning more about people’s adaptive setups because 1) I think we (people with SMA) are extremely creative and innovative in how we go about things and 2) it sparks ideas for me to implement myself.
Today, I thought I’d ask if you have any special setup with assistive technology when it comes to using your computer. I work from home and use my laptop most of the day. However, I no longer have the physical capabilities to use the mouse and keyboard. Instead, I use an app on my phone called WiFi mouse, and it connects to my laptop through… yup, WiFi. Within the app is a mouse and keyboard that I use with just one finger. I’ve gotten really good at typing fast without looking at the keys. One of my more notable talents, ha.
Do you use any adaptive equipment when using a computer? Voice recognition? An app? A rigged setup you invented yourself? I’d love to hear it!
