Columnist Writes about the Importance of the SMA Community
Hi everyone! In my latest column, I wrote a bit more about the Cure SMA conference, specifically what I got out of the experience as someone who is relatively new to the community. I had no idea what to expect and, honestly, didn’t get much out of the workshops. It makes sense, considering that most of them are geared towards newly-diagnosed folks.
That being said, I really enjoyed meeting everyone and getting a taste of what independence looks like. I’ve written several columns about my desire to move out, so it was inspiring to see people who were living independently. It was also great to get a feel for how people manage their caregivers. All in all, it gave me a ton of ideas to implement in the future. I’ll keep y’all updated!
What have you gleaned from the community at large?
