Qualifying Disability-Related Expenses for ABLE Accounts
So I’m new to the world of ABLE accounts and am trying to figure everything out. I know we can only spend what’s in the account on certain things, or qualifying disability-related expenses, but how technical can I get here? QDE’s are stated as:
“A qualified disability expense (QDE) is any expense related to the account owner’s blindness or disability that assists them in increasing and/or maintaining their health, independence and/or quality of life.“
So, for example, I need snow tires on my wheelchair-accessible van which essentially impacts my quality of life. Does something like this count or am I stretching? How do you determine these things?
