Okay, so it’s a different kind of transformation— not the one that’s been filling your social media feeds with pictures from 2009 and today.
This one goes a little deeper than that.
Because, if I’m being honest, I look pretty similar to the 2009 version of me.
So, in this column, I explore what’s beneath the surface of the girl staring back at me in pictures. Her face may not have changed much, but the stories she carries with her along with the battle scars to prove them are proof of a profound transformation that can’t be captured in photos.
Life with SMA is anything but ordinary, and the last 10 years of my life can attest to this.
