Happy Tuesday everyone!
In the latest episode of Dose of DeAnn: A Glimpse Into My Life with SMA, I talk about dental hygiene. Like most people, I hate going to the dentist. When you throw SMA into the equation, it adds additional challenges.
Still, dental hygiene is an important topic, and in this video I show clips of me at a recent dentist appointment. I also show how I brush my teeth when I’m at home. Hopefully you, or someone you know who has SMA, can benefit from the tips I share here.

Great episode! I think I liked it so much because it reinforces what I do!
I found the Quip is best so far and I’ve tried several variations.
Flossers are critical IMO, I’m getting great checkups with the Quip and flossing.
Try these: GUM Angled Flosser Picks, 75 count on Amazon or direct from GUM. I find they work very well with my weak hands.
Also, try using about 1/3 of the toothpaste as you used in the video.
For mouthwash, I use a sample size container, swig, spit into a cup.

Thanks Bob! Glad someone can relate. So far Quip is the lightest brush I’ve found. Thanks for the suggestions. Always looking for ways to make it easier.
