    Good afternoon Peeps,

For the last several months, I have had a difficult time getting my Pulmocare formula. The company that I get it through either says it’s on back order or they can’t get it. My doctor did prescribed me Glucerna but it really causes me digestive issues. I can purchase Pulmocare online but I would really like for my insurance (Ohio Medicaid) to cover the cost of it. So I have a few questions for you all.

    1. Do any of you use Pulmocare formula and what company do you get it from?

    2. If you don’t use Pulmocare formula, what do you use?

Not familiar with this particular formula. I use Real Food Blends after trying several other formulas including Peptamen and Jevity. Comparing the nutrition info for the Chicken version of RFB at quick glance they seem quite similar to Pulmocare. Of course I’d recommend talking with your doctor and possibly even a nutritionist to see what’s right for you. Even better if they’re familiar with your condition. They might know what’s readily available in your area too.

Ugh I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. I had to go through a similar situation once before, and it was stressful. I don’t know that I’d be much help to you, but I use Neocate Splash. It’s an amino-acid based formula. Since that one issue a couple of years ago, I haven’t had any trouble.

I do not use Pulmocare although I know people acquire it from Amazon together with direct orders from the manufacturer. Other people use Ensure and Boost as an alternative for a heightened boost though these products could potentially deliver different results. Your doctor and insurance provider need another try to determine if they can approve coverage for your required Pulmocare treatment.

@Steph were you able to get this resolved? I hope so!

Unfortunately, the manufacturer of Plumocare stopped making this feeding formula. I have gradually switched to Glucerna 1.5. It seems to be going okay so far. Glad for this outcome!
