Hi everyone! Here’s a link to Alyssa’s latest column. In “Small Spinraza Changes Yielded Big Results,” she discusses her journey toward embracing the small gains that are seen in adult patients with SMA. Because Alyssa was one of the first adults to take Spinraza in December of 2016, she left room for significant improvements over the course of the treatment.

Unfortunately, the improvements she saw were small. However, as time went on, those improvements started to add up. She noticed that she could carry on a conversation without becoming breathless. She had more strength and was able to fight respiratory infections at home instead of the hospital. Alyssa stated that, as a result of those small gains, she had a better quality of life.

I really loved this column, as I think it’s important to reflect on improvements big and small. What gains have you noticed lately?
