Surfing for SMA


Approximately 1 in 10,000 newborns are affected by spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a sever life-threatening condition that results in muscle wasting, severely impaired mobility, and shortened life span.

In this heartwarming video shared in September 2015, meet 7-year-old Aaron and Ricochet.  Ricochet is a surf dog who helps disabled children learn how to surf but today he’s helping Aaron experience the beauty and excitement of ocean waves while lying on a surfboard at the water’s edge.
