Follow the story of AJ Brockman in this film shared in 2011. AJ is an award-winning digital artist from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida who has always loved art. Diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in infancy, AJ has been wheelchair-bound since he was two years old.

Chris Leon is another talented artist with SMA. Chris uses computer technology to create comic book superheroes.

As an artist he used to paint using traditional brushes and acrylics, but as his spinal muscular atrophy progressed he lost the use of his hands and had to look for alternative ways to create his artwork. Using computer software and just one finger of his left hand, AJ is able to create stunning pieces of art.

Meet Joe Akmakjian, a 24-year-old SMA patient who is living independently.
