According to Working on Walking, Alyssa teamed up with Animus Studios to make the documentary, and allowed film crews to follow her around Rhode Island for three years. The makers want the film to achieve two things: raise awareness of SMA and to inspire people to push themselves to see exactly what they can achieve in life.

The full-length documentary received widespread acclaim and also won first prize in the humanitarian section of the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
