Support Systems
Two of my closest neighbors have just moved. Not only am I sad I’ve lost good neighbors, it also means my support system is shrinking. Living independently requires a robust support system. I’m not gonna lie, it makes me a little nervous I won’t be able call them up when the low battery is beeping on my smoke alarm or when my tires snag the garden hose and I’m stuck in the backyard, just for example. I know everything will be fine and new neighbors will move in. Eventually they may become part of my support system too. I do have concerns about putting too much on my current support system though. I try not to put too much on any one person. Do you have strategies to keep from overwhelming your support system?
