An important interview for my next vlog almost didn’t happen this week.  For the silliest of reasons too.  While preparing, my arm slipped off my armrest.  Stuck in my office unable to reach my joystick I looked at my Alexa show.  In my mind I scrolled through my list of contacts and decided to have Alexa call my PCA who lives nearby.  Luckily she came and helped me out so I could do the interview which you can check out here on my latest Dose of DeAnn vlog.

Has Alexa ever saved the day? What’s the most important thing you’ve used it for?

Yes! Oh wow, you just brought back a memory for me.

I have an echo dot by my bed in case of an emergency. One day, I woke up to the most violent pain in my stomach and was about to throw up. On my BiPAP. I called for my parents several times and no one came. So, I started panicking that they couldn’t hear me and asked Alexa to call the house. Sure enough, my dad answered and came running. I was in the hospital a few hours later.

I can’t imagine what would have happened if I wasn’t able to get help.
