Ok. So the title of this forum is a joke. I definitely don’t have any sort of Harvard degree. However, my latest column talks about how much knowledge and medical jargon I’ve gained over the years simply by living with SMA and how I, jokingly, should have an honorary degree from Harvard Medical School by now. This idea did come to mind, though, while my mom and I were having a snack in the Harvard Med quad, conveniently located next door to the hospital I frequent often.

I may not be qualified to be a doctor, but SMA has certainly expanded my medical knowledge over the years. Personally, I feel as though it has better equipped me for the road ahead. Do you feel similarly with your diagnosis?
