As someone with SMA, my care and access to medical resources has no doubt significantly increased over the years. Back when I was diagnosed in 1995 at 18 months old, there was no hope at all given to my parents.
Since then I’ve defied the life expectations of the doctor who diagnosed me and lived a great life. Beyond that, medical advancements and SMA research have skyrocketed. We’re in a much better place now than we were back then.
