  • How can I keep my energy up?

Honestly, I think I was a bear in a past life—or any other animal that hibernates, for that matter. These shorter and colder days are brutal on my body. My bones and joints hurt, my feet are numbingly cold, and my energy is nonexistent. I just want to crawl under a blanket and sleep until April.

How can I keep my energy up and stay cozy this season?

I never used to be this way until the last couple of years. Old age, I guess. 😂

I fully understand. It’s so difficult being “normally” active when the temperature gets drastically cold. I only can suggest staying warm with space heaters, and if your stomach tolerates, try warm drinks. I like warmed apple cider for one, and hot chocolate or Carnation Instant Breakfast (which has ingredients to help energize you). Happy Hibernating!

Blankets are my new best friend. I should invest in a spade heater. To work from home comfortably, I need to wear short-sleeve or sleeveless tops because any added weight on my arms makes it more difficult to move them. But then I’m cold lol. It’s quite the conundrum. Any heater you’d recommend?

Do you have any passion projects or events to look forward to? Sometimes that sparks a little something. I always joke I hibernate from October through April. Honestly I’m just trying my best to be okay with hibernation mode. It helps me to make my space comfortable. Like Kip, I have my heaters and warm drinks stockpiled and ready to go. Hand warmers are charged.

Some folks swear by supplements or have those daylight lamps but I let my plants have the lights. Supplements make me leery. Are you a fan of supplements?

Right?! Daylight savings time started today, and the sun sets at 4:30 now, so I’ll see y’all in March. 😂 I tried one of those light lamps once before, and it gave me vertigo. Though unsurprising, I was still annoyed. They seemed promising.

Supplements used to make me violently ill, but now that I have a feeding tube in my intestines, it’s a little easier. That might be worth exploring. What makes you leery about them?

I also have some hobbies that keep me afloat during this season. The question is whether I will have the energy for them.
