It’s fun to see Halloween becoming a more inclusive holiday from my childhood days.  Now there are things like Trunk-or-Treats where everything is at one location.  The other day I even learned of a Witch Swap.  That’s where if your kid has food sensitivities they can still go trick-or-treating.  They can leave the bag of candy they collect outside their door and in the middle of the night a witch will swoop by on their broom and swap the candy for a toy.  No reindeer required.

Are you a fan of Halloween?  Love it or hate it, I want to hear your thoughts on the holiday.  I’m warming up to it now that I’m in my mid 40’s.  I’m even sporting my spiderweb sweatshirt.

Trunk or Treats would have been ideal for me back in the day. Although I remember it rained one Halloween, so we went trick-or-treating at the local mall, and it was so nice. Everything was accessible, and I didn’t have to worry about bundling up for the frigid New England weather. I don’t know why we didn’t do that more often. Did you go trick-or-treating as a kid?

I lived in a rural area, so trick or treating was limited to a few nearby neighbors. Because everyone knew everyone, it was safe back then to do homemade treats. One neighbor made the best popcorn balls. We always made a point to stop there. That was our one stop the year of the infamous Halloween blizzard. The weather was brutal but we got our popcorn ball. Did you have a favorite Halloween treat?

Oh that’s interesting! Those popcorn balls must have been really good to have gone out in a blizzard haha. Reese’s were always my favorite candy to get. Did you ever incorporate your wheelchair into your costumes? I never did, but kids today have the coolest wheelchair costumes.
