How’s everyone doing amid this cold and flu season?

I got hit hard with a bad cold last month. I hadn’t been sick like that in years. Though I could fight the virus at home, things were touch and go for a while. Since my last bout with a respiratory infection, I’ve gotten weaker. That made things all the more challenging for me in terms of healing. It took 3-4 weeks before I finally started feeling better.

How do you fight off respiratory infections? What types of regimens do you have when you’re sick?

    Here is mine:

    Albuterol nebulizers every 4 hours

    Saline nebulizers in between

    Chest PT after every nebulizer

    Extra fluids

    Extra time on BiPAP

Hello, I got hit hard also! I tested positive for parainfluenza with probable pneumonia, although the x-ray showed a lot of congestion it’s hard to read exactly with my Harrington rods. I spent New Year’s in the hospital, and it wasn’t a very pleasant stay! It has taken me multiple weeks to recover, and this is my regimen:

2 nebulizer treatments per day of budesonide

Nebulizer treatments of albuterol as needed, not to exceed 4 per day

    Saline nebulizer treatment before bed

    Chestal natural cough syrup

loratadine before breakfast (prescription liquid Claritin)

Edema wrapping of my feet to avoid access fluid

Easy to eat soft and puréed foods, soups to avoid choking and aspiration

    Extra time on BiPAP

    Aerobika for regular exercise

I have a cough assist but I’m currently researching a new percussive device. I would appreciate any recommendations!
