• Morning Rituals

We often talk in the SMA community and in other rare disease communities about things like managing stress and isolation. One of the things that helps me is having a solid morning routine. My work days are usually pretty packed, and unless I have an early conference call or something, I like to start my day with music, reading something and drinking caffeine. I’ve mentioned before that I’m kind of a Coca Cola addict.

I also have my caregiver work with me to stretch my arms while I’m in my chair, either in the morning or at night. This helps me get energized for the day, and I also like doing physical therapy in the mornings. I know others do things like yoga.

What about you all? What things do you do in the morning to get ready for the day? What tips do you have for others with SMA?
