This inspiring film from FireRock Productions, shared in 2013, is about a 20-year-old student named Shane Burcaw. Shane has spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and has been in a wheelchair since he was two years old.

Find out how a charity helped a teen with SMA become a gamer.

This film precedes a documentary made about Shane’s life called Laughing at My Nightmare. In it, Shane’s friends and family talk about his life and what makes him so unique. Shane’s ability to stay positive, enjoy life to the fullest and not let his condition get in the way is truly inspirational. Shane blogs about his day-to-day life and has set up his own non-profit organization to raise awareness for the SMA.
