This MediaStorm documentary is all about Philly Mayer. Philly is a bright and happy nine-year-old boy who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) as a toddler.

The Mayers realized something was wrong when Philly suddenly stopped walking in his baby walker just before his first birthday. A few weeks later, he refused to stand. After many tests, the devastating news came that he had SMA, The Mayers were told Philly would only live until he was seven, but he is still going strong two years later.
