Fourth Grader Makes Wish Come True

Nine-year-old Izzy Zahn wanted to help someone, so she decided to make a book of her photography and sell it to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation. Book sales came to $6,600.

Bright, funny, and talkative 2 and 1/2-year-old Scarlet happens to have SMA.

Little did Izzy know that the recipient of her good deed would live right down the street.

Aubrey Poole, also 9, was born with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type 1, and years ago was a classmate at Izzy’s school. While Izzy was busy with her effort, Aubrey’s parents were filling out paperwork with Make a Wish so that their daughter could experience a Disney cruise.
