For LaMondre, he considers his SMA to be a part of who he is. But, while he embraces that fact of his life, he also stresses the idea that SMA is not the only defining characteristic that makes up his personhood. In today’s 31 Days of SMA feature, LaMondre brings up some great discussions in regards to ableism, how society perceives disability, and the importance of being seen for who you really are as an individual.
