Are you monitoring the new influx of Covid cases?
Posted by alyssa-silva on July 2, 2024 at 11:10 amCovid is on the rise again. Lovely. I know several people who have gotten sick recently, and now my guards are starting to go up again. I’m not sure what to make of everything.
Are you monitoring the new influx of cases? If so, how are you responding to it, if at all?

I got it. Hopefully vaccine done in september will prevent it from going too bad

Are the symptoms any different this time around from previous strains?

To be honest, I haven’t done much research on it, so I’m not sure. I should say it’s not so much the actual COVID virus I’m worried about. It’s the fact that a virus, in general, is spreading quickly outside of the normal cold and flu season. My lungs have gotten weaker, so I’m afraid to get anything at this point. Usually, I let my guard down in the summer, but now this COVID thing is making me pay closer attention. If you read anything about this strain, let me know!

Coughing is not that bad.
At least not yet.
I stayed in bed for one day, but working already.

its worsening.
now i would rate my condition as 7/10, where 10 i had to stay in bed for two weeks with very bad cough (before vacation).
I did own test too late now, it came negative and i was denied paxlovid.
Stay safe.

Feeling tired and crappy, which is an improvement over knocked out and whiny. Seem to be coughing up the congestion a bit so that’s better.

Ugh. Glad you’re hanging in there, but it stinks that you have it in the first place. Is this your first time with COVID?

This is our second round of Covid, we first got it March 2021. This time the respiratory complications were more mild, but it did come with an extra helping of diarrhea. That was unexpected.
Feeling better, there’s a baseline fatigue that is being persistent. Normally, I would chalk it up to SMA, but my partner is also feeling the fatigue so Covid.
It’s going around a lot. There’s no shame in masking up and taking care of what you need to be as healthy as possible.

I’m glad to hear the respiratory symptoms weren’t as bad as the first time. That’s my biggest fear with this virus or any virus, for that matter. I hope the fatigue lets up soon. I hear that’s common post-COVID.
