Dose of DeAnn Episode 16: Makeshift Tools

In the latest episode of Dose of DeAnn: A Glimpse Into My Life with SMA, I talk about using makeshift devices to assist me with everyday tasks. The other day when my sister was over at my house, she looked perturbed when she saw an arrow shaft sitting on my table, and she asked me what I used this for.
The reality is that this little arrow shaft is one of my favorite tools. I use it to press buttons, reach objects that are too high for me, move things that are near me and even remove my necklace. I bought it at a sporting goods store a while back for just a few bucks, and it’s been a great piece of assistive technology since then. It’s also not sharp at all, so I don’t have to worry about hurting myself when using it.
What about you all? Do you use any makeshift tools like this in your daily life?
