    From past experience I can tell you that too much exercise can “burn out muscle”.  I lost strength after too heavy of a program recommended by a physical therapist.  Now this was 30 years ago when a lot less was known about SMA 3.  Heck it wasn’t even called that then!

    Thanks for bringing that up Jim. I agree, you don’t want to overdo it.  As with most things I think balance is key.  With SMA I think you don’t want to focus on strengthening, but more maintaining movement.  I hope you’ve been able to find a good balance that works for you.

    And on those days that you feel like you can’t exercise, even having someone stretch you for you can be a wonderful thing.
