Fingers crossed different armrests and a joystick mount will be the finishing touches in making my new chair more comfy. I’m still waiting, but hopefully soon. Next I need to make it personal somehow. Right now it just feels like a piece of equipment. Naming it isn’t something I’m really into. My cat’s name is Kitty so fun original names aren’t my forte. Plus I’ve never been one to name inanimate objects. Although I must say some of you guys come up with some pretty clever choices. Don’t really want to junk it up with stickers. Especially since I’ll be stuck with them for at least the next 5 years. I do have a Cricut though so thought about cutting some vinyl decals but not sure. Since I’m, how do I say this, more mature, I’m thinking I should keep it classy. It just seems like there’s so much potential but I’m at a loss. What have you done to personalize your ride?

What about a really cool backpack or side bag?

I second what Kelly said. I always try to dress up my chair with a nice bag. Also, I have a Cricut machine too but never thought about making a decal. That’s a good idea! I don’t know why but I’m not big on personalizing things. I did name my chair though haha.

    Hiya!

There are not many websites that provide customization options for wheelchairs. Sniff.

    Two suggestions though:

    1. Do an Etsy search for wheelchair accessories  – some options should pop up such as joystick knows, seat covers and armrest covers, etc

    2. Visit this site for a few options: https://themobilityproject.com/directory/list/customize-my-ride.aspx?m=1

Hope this helps a bit and good luck with new chair. My new permobil chair has literally changed my life! But it takes a while to get used to it.

Personally my chair is all black; wheels, tires, chassi, seating etc. I get enough people making awkward small talk as it is without highlighting the chair.

When I was more blingy in school when my mates were getting cars with nice wheels I got my rims chrome dipped & bullet caps on the air valves.

I kinda feel putting too much personality into my chair makes it easier for people to zoom in the chair as a conversation piece.
