I know I’ve had my share of episodes like this (read my family vacation column from a couple months ago), and I’m sure many of you can relate.

Thanks for sharing this, Kevin! I’m actually curious whether anyone here relates to the part where I talked about blindly following others without thinking. It’s an interesting thing I picked up on about myself.

That struck me too. I think when I was younger I felt this way and was less proactive. Over time though I took more initiative. Things like going to college and hiring caregivers myself helped a lot in this regard. I’ve definitely become more independent in recent years.
